Frequently Asked Questions

  • Alpenglow Movement Specialists is dedicated to providing truly individualized evaluations and treatment programs for each client, with every session performed by a doctor of physical therapy. This allows for comprehensive treatment from the same provider each visit, real-time updates to treatments based on changing symptoms, and complete programs that focus on helping clients achieve a full return to their activities.

  • In order to provide such high quality and detailed services, we are not in-network with any health insurance companies. This allows us to tailor evaluations and treatments specifically to each individual based on their needs and goals, as opposed to being restricted by what insurance covers.

If you have out-of-network benefits for physical therapy with your health insurance, we are able to provide the information needed for you to submit for possible reimbursement. We cannot guarantee they will cover any or all physical therapy services. Payments for our services are expected at time of service.

  • Simply put, no. Colorado allows unrestricted direct access to physical therapy, meaning a referral is not required in order to seek physical therapy treatment.

However, some health insurances still require referrals. While this is not an issue for Alpenglow Movement Specialists as we are a self-pay physical therapy practice, if you are planning to submit for reimbursement through your health insurance for out-of-network services, we recommend you confirm whether your carrier requires a referral.

  • We most often work with teens and adults who enjoy an active lifestyle and who are motivated to improve their health and wellness. Because of our detailed approach to improving movement, we often work with endurance athletes, runners, and multi-sport athletes. Whether you enjoy recreational activities, competitive sports, or simply like to be active and outdoors, we want to help you do all of the activities that are important to you.

  • If you are interested in having your running gait analyzed, the determining factor on which service is right for you is determined by whether or not you are having pain. If you are having pain, physical therapy will help you diagnose and treat the root cause of your issue. Rest assured, a running gait analysis can and will be integrated into the treatment plan when it is appropriate based on your symptoms.

If you are not having pain and are instead interested in identifying ways to improve your running speed and efficiency, a running gait analysis can help with that.

  • Whether you are coming in for physical therapy, a running gait analysis, or strength and conditioning, we use the first appointment to get to know you, your concerns, and your goals. We will spend a significant portion of the visit doing an evaluation so we can create a detailed treatment plan to address each of the factors that may be affecting you. We will review all of our findings with you, diagnoses (where appropriate), and make sure you understand our findings and suggestions for how to proceed.

  • There are not many things you need to bring to your first appointment. However, some things that could be helpful if you have handy would be: any applicable imaging results (a printout of the written summary is wonderful), a medication list if applicable, and your workout / running shoes.

  • Wear what is comfortable for you. If coming in for physical therapy, wearing clothing that allows access to the area we are treating you for is always helpful (ex: wear shorts if coming in for a knee issue). If it is cold out, you are more than welcome to change when you arrive. If coming in for strength and conditioning or running gait analyses, wear comfortable workout clothes and your usual workout / running shoes.

  • Alpenglow is a lighting phenomenon where mountains take on a beautiful rosy glow, often just preceding sunrise.

Because of its common occurrence right before dawn, to us, alpenglow is synonymous with “a new day” or a “fresh start.” Our approach to physical therapy and sports performance is different from traditional practices, which often resonates with many clients who have had previous poor experiences with rehab or struggle with recurrent injuries but who go on to have success with us. We want to be that fresh start for you.

  • We are located at 525 E Fountain Blvd, Suite 150. The office is on the southeast corner of the building, with the front door located off of Royer Street (not Fountain Blvd). We share space with Max Capacity Physical Therapy.

Parking is simple. There is a parking lot located on the southeast corner of the building where you are welcome to park for your appointments at no cost. This parking lot has the shortest distance to our front door and has a ramp to allow access to the building from the parking lot without having to navigate stairs.
